🌀 Typhoon Kong-rey: The Big Storm and How to Stay Safe

Taiwan just faced its biggest storm in almost 30 years - Typhoon Kong-rey! This powerful storm changed our October and taught us many important lessons about safety. Let's learn about what happened and how to stay safe.

🌪️ The Giant Storm

Kong-rey was like a huge spinning top in the sky. Its winds were as fast as 200 kilometers per hour - faster than any car on the highway! The storm was so big that its strong winds reached 320 kilometers around it, like a giant umbrella covering the ocean.

✈️ What Happened in Taiwan?

When Kong-rey visited:

✈️ More than 500 planes couldn't fly

🚂 Trains had to go very slowly

🚇 The outside parts of the MRT stopped working

🏫 Schools and offices closed to keep people safe

👥 Our Brave Helpers

Taiwan worked hard to protect everyone:

💪 34,000 brave soldiers helped people

🏃 8,600 people moved to safer places

🧹 Many workers cleaned the streets

👨‍⚕️ Doctors and nurses stayed ready in hospitals

⚠️ Dangers We Can Still See
